T
he second quarter of 2017 kept
economists busy as significant
events both at home and abroad
influenced the market.The result of
Theresa May’s snap election created
more questions than it answered in
terms of her Brexit mandate, and exit
negotiations started with the UK falling
in line with the EU’s chosen agenda.
Elsewhere, the US Federal Reserve
raised interest rates by another 0.25%
and suggested a further rise is to follow.
In this edition of ‘Investor Centre’,
our Chief Investment Officer, Chris
Ralph, reviews all of these events in
more detail, EdgePointWealth
Management’sTye Bousada talks about
the importance of active portfolio
management, and our ‘Insights’
article looks at the potential value
for commercial property investors
in garden centres.
